ORANGE / Crossroads

ORANGE CROSSROADS

I’m feeling like the color orange and it’s the weirdest color to have an emotion towards. It’s unknown but not in a mysterious way, but almost like an awkward presence which surrounds me! I am mainly wearing it in the photo above because I suppose I am at a crossroads with it.

It’s almost like, I am engulfed in a chakra of some kind, which is written inside the four walls of discovery! It’s simply amazing to taste the lips of what’s orange. It’s not that it is good, or that it is really a color. Just a radiating color, that manages to cross me.

The color orange creates a lot of controversies; it evokes strong emotion and is a color that people seem to either love or hate. Color experts agree that orange radiates warmth and energy, and it’s also is the color of our sacral chakra, which stimulates our sexuality and emotions. Here are some more interesting facts about the color orange:

Apparently, in the early Christian church, orange was a symbol of glory and fruits of the earth.
It was also called the wisdom ray the area where wisdom radiates.
In the practice of Feng Shui, colors hold great significance, and orange represents a dangerous fire.
Orange could help us focus our powers of concentration, and it’s also the color that’s credited with assisting us in organizing our thoughts and our things.
Also, as you know, during the Elizabethan Era in English history, only nobility were allowed to wear orange clothing.
I can’t deny, I am drawn to its aura.
Not much more I can say about it. If orange had a feeling, I suppose it is what I feel now.

The Time Keeper (See Where You Are)

I just finished watching ‘The Time Keeper’ by Mitch Albom!

It’s a book with massive critical acclaim and for good reasons!

I won’t indulge each and every passage that enveloped the story but my abbreviations are heavy with a sense of parallel discovery.

Right after, I finished reading the book immediately as I went to lay, the song ‘See Where You Are’ by Amel Larrieux stormed within my heart. The lyrics speak of exactly,  what the book manages to explore.

Image

“It’s zippin by
Like speed of light
Or draggin painfully slow
It’s not enough
Or just too much
Either way it’s gonna go”

TIME, what truly is it all about? I’ve written very much about time, the paradox of its nature, the believability that it is given. While reading the book, what I managed to enjoy are those random slices of revelation! Mitch, often dropped knowledge as a poetry entrance, to concur with the setting of what he talked spoke about! I started to read the book backward, but I’ll manage to now quote some of my favorite slices from end to the beginning.

“Everything man does today to be efficient, to fill the hour? It does not satisfy. It only makes him hungry to do more. Man wants to own his existence. But no one owns time”

“With endless time, nothing is special. With no loss sacrifice, we can’t appreciate what we have.”

“When we’re most alone is when we embrace another loneliness / But…Hurting ourselves to inflict pain on others is just another cry to be loved”

“Einstein once postulated that if you traveled at an enormous rate of speed, time would actually slow down relative to the world you left behind, so that seeing that future without aging alongside it was, at least theoretically possible.

“He did not know that the child who asked for yesterday was now seeking to own tomorrow”

“But a man who can take anything will find most things unsatisfying. And a man without memories is just a shell.

“In this world, he heard a constant hum, as if a hundred sounds were being mashed into one note. He didn’t yet know this was the sound of a single slowed moment”

These were quotes that really managed to detail the moments in time, which have brought a sense of measuring eternity. The book motivated me to see where I am. Which brings me back to Amel!

What you wanted is what you have
Or isn’t it
What you are is out of your hands
Or isn’t it

Lay down your pencil
Computer off
Say not a word
Get out of your car
Step away from your desk
Don’t look at the clock
Stand there in silence

And see where you are
And see where you are
And see where you are
And do you wanna be where you are”

This song motivates us, to lay down what we are writing. DO WE EVEN KNOW, WHAT WE ARE WRITING? Turn the computer off, and observe the silence! This song really enveloped my thought process because, lately, that is exactly what I have been doing lately. Staying quiet and not looking at the clock. There is a lot in my life going on…But I am stepping away from my desk. Just to see where I am..I realize I don’t want to be where I am.

She goes even deeper in the next lyrics:

It’s everything
A vivid dream
Or not worth talking about
The big idea
Until it’s here
And then they’re taking the

house

What you wanted is what you have
Or isn’t it
What you are is out of your hands
Or isn’t it

What we often want is what we have, and many times we feel is that it is out our hands!

Ah yes
Feeling the implications
Of somebody else’s
Expectations
You could elope if you wanted to

DO you want to is the question?

Vexed Panting

My blood is panting like on an African Safari.
Image
I was kept on a journey that tasted like a volcanic fantasy and destination.
Image
My body raved of a secret understood only between the curves and rising agent which belong to me.
Silently my eyes remember what great presence your sincere frame belongs to.
The life which is being witnessed by the balanced giving of your charity.
You bite just enough to keep my mind on a vexed motivation.
I’ve known you to be a seed planter, and you carefully drop this amidst the growing perimeters.
You speak with a delighted gesture of peace, and a piece of me is grand as it is aware.
This is not a flaunted boasting of your most tempting rewards, rather humble auctions of your sensual blessings.
Actually, I’ve become familiar with the ground as I am grasping for air.
My body aches as it conveys a breaking down of carnal indulgence like I’ve never experienced before.
Messages are being tracked within the vessels of my words unto you.

Spoiled Oasis

Salvador Dali

Salvador Dali always manages to express his power through so many illustrations. It’s a quite sensual piece. Safe to say, I am truly and remarkably moved by the meaning! I wrote this a while back, being inspired after I had awakened from a dream of being drowned by an oasis. I also found a lot of inspiration from Martika’s ‘Coloured Kisses’:

“You give me, give me coloured kisses
Coloured kisses for my lips to taste
You lead me, lead me to an oasis
An oasis where I can lay
My head on your shoulder and pray”

It’s one of my favorite jams, I love how colorful it is. It’s safe to say, being spoiled by a beautiful oasis really grants my thirst!

Just a fountain of forever – a waterfall of regeneration
Wisely laying beside the water brooks
I am thirsty for my lips to taste the freshest springs that run into me
This oasis is my home – as I was born into the spell of the waters
Once it was then possible to drown my veins
As I tried to break free from the liquids of eternity
It isn’t so easy to harmonize with the rushing waters because the waves cover and cruise the motion of the ocean
The heart of my livelihood
Rests at the sleepless sounds of the night
Come to me and arise with a crush of transparency
Find yourself in the foundation of all living
Organize the species of all lifetime and silence the scientific hypothesis of origin
The rivers yearn for the spoiling of fresher rainfalls
The drought captivates the deadly sting of rotten righteousness
Blades are becoming rusty as they cut the lengths of watery pastries!

12 Years A Slave (More Than One Story)

What made me pardon the film, is its historical accuracy. I really lauded to see such consistencies save a few minor additions. I still would love to see more films based on HIStory that came before the slavery period. As I think films which stress the richness and beauty of Africa, can somehow eradicate this disastrous yet factual piece in time. Our history is rich and also powerful. I appreciate Nick Cannon for making this statement.

Why don’t they make movies about our African kings & queens? #OurHistory I would love to see a film about Akhenaton and his beautiful wife Queen Nefertiti! Or Cetewayo, a King who was a war hero. I’m about to drive to my office RIGHT NOW and start the development! New Hollywood Trend, Black King, and Queen films! Starring Black People!!” #NoDisrespectToElizabethTaylor.”

It reminds me of what Michael Jackson achieved through ‘Remember The Time’. I think Hollywood could benefit from this action. Seeing progressive, images which reflect a piece of history that is rarely if ever seen through the lens of Hollywood. I believe something can be done about that! We were not only victims of mass brutality that came through the acts of rape, lynchings and devalued imposition.

If modern America could see before we were brought to a land that was not our own; maybe the perceptions of us as people would change. No, we are not monolithic, we all carry different stories. But in Africa, there are riches untold, not just of jewels and geometric pyramids. There is wisdom, and a great length of stories to be told. By honorable teachers such as Marcus Garvey, who I am as of late immersed in his studies.

We need to become familiar with the history, of actual figures who existed with the goal to further consciousness. That’s where my aim is, to further and to deconstruct this institution of monolithic exaggeration.

Unending Math

Salvador Dali

Like a fire is known by the passion of yesterday – our galaxy is made of mysterious makeup and powerful energy!

Magnificent feelings which take us to the sky and then to the unending line which goes on forever.

If you could understand the angles on which I am met – you would see why this corner is so hard to be in.

Hard like Arabian Math – with a great thrust to intersect.

I’m giving you a lampshade crown as I am weeping on your knee.

Weeping because all I see is the lamentation of a world without you.

I am happy to know you’re here in my route.

So take those pregnant pauses and when you are ready to deliver.

I’ll be there to carefully caress your body language!

You swallow whole the engulfing mystery of the night.

Rivers and streams within you.

I just want to play by the awakening of your waters.

You keep my eyes focused, but my heart yearning for more!
