Cranberry Blues

Cranberry Blues

“Whose ready to have glacier and stone cold water to travel down to your esophagus?!”

NOT ME.

Whenever you can finally drink a glass of water, think about how different it might taste if it was surrounded by ice. Ice cold water can be refreshing or it can be a rude reminder that sometimes, being too cold makes you an asshole. Ice in water also plays a significant role in disguising bad water. So, why not be room temperature or something that tastes refreshing or even something that’s lightly chilled?

In the same way – hot foods can be incredibly inconvenient when hungry. Picture it: You order food at a restaurant but you came to the restaurant extremely hungry. So you’re talking shit with your friend and learning about their day and you’re sharing yours – *but you can’t seem to stop thinking about what you ordered.* The fine expectation that there is also a dessert to be eaten. Until Bam! – Your food finally arrives but only flaming hot!

You want to eat it but you rather wait till its cooled down as to not burn your tongue. That’s when you remember that ice cold water doesn’t help any when you’re hungry, you still have to wait. So many people come to the same place you attend and you ordered at happy hour!

You see from the perspective of the shoe, you don’t know what it’s like stepping into all kinds of shit with your bare feet. From the perspective of the hand, you don’t want to know what it’s like picking up what the shoe contacted. From the perspective of the glove – it’s worse than what anybody can conjure up!

All of this to say, lately, I had a bad case of Cranberry Blues!

I got a bad case of cranberry blues. It’s hot. It’s the kind of machine that makes one lust aimlessly. Don’t care who’s in my way – I got to unlock the satisfaction. I turned the key and the ignition is burning oil. I’m getting somewhere even though I’m near empty. My hands are shaking. I can’t keep the steering wheel center. I’m about to ready curve to the side of the road.

There’s a house down yonder with a sign that reads: “come”. I can’t be the only one thirsty when the invitation is plastered on the street signs. I walked in and noticed a jug of ice water sitting on the table. just before I could pour me a glass, a lady in a blue dress asked me how I was paying? I told her:”usually water is free but I suppose this time, she could put it on the tab.she inquired my name, address, and place of work – for she had never seen me come into the establishment before.

I told her never mind who I am, that she should trust an honest man always pays his debts. I turned back in to grab the glass but it nearly fell off the edge but I managed to catch it before it fell. she smiled at me and told me to wait there. before I knew it she came back in a cranberry dress. and now I got a bad case of cranberry blues!

A Biscuit Without A Two Piece

A Biscuit Without A Two Piece

All this time I was only a biscuit without a two piece

*and a sigh of regret*

A dry muffin that yearned to take honey out on a lease

I was despised for my inability to fulfill a hunger spell
UNTIL
The flakiness of the edge of the biscuit ended up in my teeth’s jail

oh, what the hell….”

If you don’t watch out – the aftermath is coming to await you – as soon as you finish at the last bite. You’ll have some illusion of relief because of the flavors and satisfying *feeling* of being full. Great! So you ain’t hungry no more! *but what did you eat?* Did you eat anything that grew from the ground? Or was it most of it processed with added chemicals? We are not always served the intentions we put out. A memory may have made it good from before but in the present, it doesn’t measure the same.

You can expect a room full of diverse colors and patterns the moment you invite growth into your palace. Some guests are simply no longer invited. Some even overstay their welcome. For growth comes in to cultivate the seeds that were planted. If you’re not listening to your body and honoring the requests, it’ll start reminding you. It’s just like anything – learning how different things communicate is what makes one a great communicator.

It’s like that one time you ordered a biscuit and a two piece but you didn’t realize one of the pieces didn’t connect to the full picture. Some pieces are like small fragments from a mosaic. Depending on how far you’re looking, the details make a difference in how you interpret what you’re seeing. Some are larger than you think with added calories and enticement.

Memories can be unreliable because they switch the colors of the room. While we may think we know how to measure our memories accurately, we very often miss the mark.

It is not strange, for one to commonly order a side (sigh) order with a two-piece and biscuit.  This could be a sigh order of relief, regret, or any range of emotions.

😀

How To Unlock Caterpillar Logic

How To Unlock Caterpillar Logic

Growing up in New Orleans for me was a privilege, that I don’t take for granted in my childhood. It meant good food, lively music, snowballs, and a rich culture. It also meant around spring time caterpillars would hang from my grandparents oak trees!

I dreaded caterpillars because they were very thick and sticky. There was often a host of caterpillars all crammed together like a pack of sardines. April and May, in particular, meant caterpillars would be everywhere from the sidewalks, bushes, and my grandmother’s porch. This did not mean much to my grandfather when he’d want assistance in cleaning the sidewalk.

“Come on out here boy, this sidewalk won’t brush itself!!” He’d yell.

“But he’s hysterical of those caterpillars!” Gammie would plead!

I’m thankful my Gammie always had my back and considered how I felt! It is through her care and concern, I never had to help my pops clean around outside during the spring! Luckily, I had a brother who didn’t mind as much! 😀

I never shook my fear of them until I left New Orleans. I didn’t see them at all in Texas although I noticed on occasion, I’d catch small moths and butterflies. I’ve grown to appreciate the caterpillar because of its developmental changes. I reference their process often in my life. Looking back at how afraid I was, I now see a misguided fear. Was I afraid of growing? Could I soon break free from the cocoon? The more I learned about their process, the more I appreciated their relevance in all living existence.

I made a short video breaking down an allegorical connection between caterpillars and the flow of your ideas!

&AnotherThing…

&AnotherThing…

&AnotherThing… (A series of helpful reminders you may or may not find useful.)

When I was little, I would crush my bag of chips because I felt it would be more to eat later. However, when I got older – I began to understand that no matter how many pieces you make out of one – the same value exists. This encouraged me to embrace the moment of one chip. I now slowly eat one at a time with no need to pour them out or funnel them down my throat. (Plus I make less of a mess) Basically: I could cut the pie in many different ways, but it ain’t gonna get any bigger. Therefore, When I savor the moment, it’s blessed!

&AnotherThing…

If the question is why and the answer is “I DON’T KNOW”. This should be satisfactory enough. You may offer a source who may know but they are coming from the vantage point of the perspective they believe. It’s important to remember people are coming from where they are at (currently) What do you know? Maybe more than I – this is why I prefer to shut up and be the student. Yet, this is what also makes me want to teach and tell what I do know because it may help somebody!

&AnotherThing…

It’s important to keep context in the same place you put your keys or that fresh breath mint. Your pocket. If your context ain’t somewhere close but somewhere more vast – like your backpack or purse, you’re gonna have a longer time locating it. So, now that we got all of the basics out the way:
“Where are your glasses?”
Hmm.
They are exactly where you put them. You’ve been looking everywhere except the most common place we put our glasses when we don’t need them. Not in the pocket or purse but on the top of our heads! Are you really a fool? Bad memory? Nah – it just wasn’t important enough to be taken out and put away. Sometimes shortcuts are actually necessary. *Even if you forgot the most obvious place.*

&AnotherThing…

It ain’t over until you’re ready to leave the party. The older you get, you just don’t fit in. It’s not that you aren’t cool but your jokes are way past the younger crowds head. The music you would bump too won’t be hitting the bass level as present contemporaries. This is when it’s time to leave. You ain’t gotta make a scene but exiting silently is your best bet. No need to embarrass yourself. When the thought suggests: “Maybe I should go home.” Honor that. You can also look at this as a metaphor for death. It’s not to be feared or delayed – everybody gotta leave some time.

&AnotherThing…

Pick your battles wisely. Everything ain’t worth the fight or sweat. If you can get your point across without screaming, cool! But if you end up losing your voice altogether – even better! Maybe that’ll remind you of how much raising your voice in an argument ain’t worth it. Some points are connected but most of the dots get lost in the sauce. You ain’t gotta break your cool – just to defend a point. If you really care – extend the same duty to someone else. They care too albeit from a different perspective.

&AnotherThing…

Some things require a password. If you don’t know the password – you still not gonna get access by making one up. You might need to contact a professional hacker. Although, I’m pretty sure if you are that desperate – you got some shit you need to figure out. Why not create your own account? It doesn’t have to be like you – get creative. Make up some shit, creating characters with their own moods and personalities can be a lot of fun!! WARNING: If you spend too much time on the net, you may fall into the trap of believing what you see. What’s worst, is cat-fishing real people because you stole a real person picture without asking them. May I suggest, using a cartoon for your avatar or a stock photo instead?

&AnotherThing….*Probably the most important lesson*

Somethings are someone’s personal experience. EVERYTHING is not every ones “Thing”. The grace of minding your business blesses you mostly. Why not take this blessing? Interfering with another life is beyond invasive. It’s downright, hubris. There’s enough to handle in your own pyramid. Glasses need to be cleaned. Shelves dusted off. Floors that need a proper shine. In spite, all the work that can be done in your home – why worry about someone else’s yard? What’s the point in getting involved in another’s battle? Why even get upset if you smell herbs that ain’t your own? You can still commit to helping from a distance without in return destroying a village. Do yourself a service and keep it moving!

Reclaiming: They Said

Reclaiming: They Said

Writing a new thing or an old thing – just as long as the flame can keep me warm. The cold flickering of life’s surprises – are we ever safe from the impending frostbite? The danger that is trapped inside of a cage of our reactions. We can choose to engage – or simply turn the page, the text remains the same morning or night. When troubles come to visit you uninvited – I encourage you to invite it in. It may make you cry or what’s worst – really tear you up inside and create a dark black hole.

I promise it’ll be worth it. You might explore things that aren’t so bad to learn. Mellow in the confusion – bake your cake and share it with someone you love. The heat is on and will soon burn into nothing but smoke. Don’t regret your time – like they say “Reclaim it”. It’s just a couple of long weeks here on earth. Some are spent wisely while others are forgotten like last weeks meal. Remember how good it was then? How much you savored the seasonings paired perfectly with a flask of wine? It was delicious and so is the memory of it – but that’s all it is now.

A forgotten moment stored only by a fraction of your senses. It’s much more – like a light to your mind is a pathway to your desires. When all is said and done – why not run? There’ll be a time you won’t be able to. When you keep on living things just get out of place.

Joints become rusty, pain becomes more practiced. “Use what you got and spend what isn’t yours” that’s what they say. That’s what ends up happening anyway, we are on borrowed tools and land. Truth be told mostly stolen – justice can’t prevail until we acknowledge this. Life is a precious commodity to some but an interesting journey to some. Living and resting. “Take what you can but always remember to leave what no longer suits you.” That’s what they said.

They have said a lot and it doesn’t all have to be in vain or to fall on deaf ears. If we know what they said – then we can live off what it may mean for now. A lot of what is said is based off myths that were created to control behaviors. This isn’t to say we can’t function behind these myths and reach some higher ground. Before you reclaim it – keep in mind some of what has been said was at a different time. The importance of context mustn’t lose its meaning due to how edgy whatever you’re claiming may feel. For example: If you wanna reclaim a concept that has been used to manipulate others – that’s gonna come with various consequences. It’s always better to be aware of the timing of such reclaims!

At any rate: Reclaim what’s yours to use for the service to others. As Maxine says it honestly with no feelings or resolve. It ain’t about offending but knowing what you can do. People have been saying a lot of things since time immortal – why not take back on what was done and remix it to your liking? All the while being aware of origin.

Unhinged (Cool To Cold)

Unhinged (Cool To Cold)

The experiences of life can leave you unhinged. Not quite connected to anything. Some may call this a coincidence. Appearances and shades of a purpose but just enough random thrown in the mix. Our lives may not all lead up to a grand soup – but we sure can appreciate each role of the spices involved.

A role to play. Which spices will cultivate the most expert flavor? Salt or paprika? Lime or lemon – they’re closely related but distinct enough in the difference of taste. Tomatoes are indeed fruits with a connecting ovary but you still wouldn’t want it in your fruit salad.

The makeup of nonsense is motivated by the drive of the absurd. Patterns are tokens to human existence. If you do this or if you do that. The language of scandalous absurdity excites my forward pen. I can write about anything because I’m willing to explore what’s unhinged.

Misery And Company At Your Buffet

Misery And Company At Your Buffet

I sat down right next to misery on the train towards The Highway of Empathy. Misery then told me, how much they loved my company for they had sensed my pain. Before I knew it – I began telling them what made me miserable. It’s fair to say we bonded quite quickly.

The phenomenon of trauma bonding is a bit more clever than I supposed. I left feeling as if I wasn’t the only one who had pains and bruises. I knew it was not only me who knew misery. When I finally arrived at Empathy Highway – I began to understand so many others experienced and felt similar to me. I quickly realize what we soon discover – I ain’t the only one in this bih!

“In the land of misery there lived a voice. A voice seeking to be heard by all of those whose woes were awakened by shared disgrace. Misery has a lot of company. Friends or enemies – it matters none to misery EVERYONE is invited to bond over the fire and ice. We are burned and then we are sent to Antartica.”

We are living in a time where misery is experienced at an intensified level.

With knowledge comes the awareness to put knowledge at exercise. It can’t stand to be stagnant – it must move in order for it to truly be alive. For what can be said about the familiar stroke of hardship? How are we to move on when our motivation is gone and when there’s no clear path to healing?

The conditions of life can be very hard even for the strongest of us. All we really have is each other and when your neighbor starts acting a fool, you got yourself. Even when you let yourself down, you’re still with YOU. Another chance to get it right. Remembering that even when it’s wrong you can appreciate the balance.

STILL, we can’t help but listen and share our woes. Whether with people, paper, art, or any amount of creation we can find to muster those silent woes. While we all share a relationship with life’s pain and triumphs – our pains are remembered with stronger conviction.

Misery is a friendly invitation extended to anyone who chooses to remember their miserable experiences. Somebody will find something to complain about. There’s always room for improvement and complaints remind us there are advancements that can be made. Just as long we keep it in the current motion.

Hindsight is more the 20/20 – it’s a dream we won’t remember all the details to.

We are like questions being drawn at the expense of searching for answers.

Sometimes all it takes is the right question to be found at the right time in your sorrow. I have learned to not be afraid of sorrows pull – for there’s a lot I have yet to process in my tears.

When the aches of life return and wish to retreat at a buffet with all sorts of past and present existential reminders – I’m gonna eat it one tribulation at a time. ( I may very well leave some entree’s because some things are too high in sugar and fat).

We don’t have to deal with all of the sorrows of the world at once. There’s a lot to eat and if you’re aren’t careful you can put way too much on your plate because you spend too much company with misery. Social Justice is important but if you’re gonna be a warrior – you have to always be prepared to fight.

That’s part of the problem, carrying swords, arrows, and armor. You won’t always be able to dodge those bullets and avoid the inevitable. The inevitable happens. Response or reaction? It’s all about your determination to resolve. If it’s all meant to be here or there.

Don’t let life hassle you into a thousand schemes of awakening. *Sleeping is sometimes some of the best natural medicine life can give you*. I’d encourage you to be aware of the many courses made available to you. Blow off your back the familiar retrograde set to keep you in flames. Every experience isn’t dealt with the same way – best if we stop pretending they are. Leave yourself to your own space where you can eat your grace at your pace.

Remember: You’re the one eating is what is nutrious. *Hopefully more than the sweets* You get to choose what you want and what’s yours. No matter who’s around you encouraging you to “EAT! EAT! IT’s GOOD!” It may not be good and to the company that suggests otherwise – remember it’s your buffet. You get to eat whatever you want. Your mouth, Your choice!

Bees Swarming

Bees Swarming

My brain is on overload. My heart steady yearns for clarity amidst the noise. The future is calling me like bees swarming around honey. The time restraints that mirror my ancient age. Apparently, I don’t look as old as I feel in relation to where I thought I’d be. None of us are spared from the light from the stars which look back at us.

I’m still looking to be found. My voice is at the lowest barrow. I want to unlock my own inner jams. The more I rehearse these lines over and over – I’m waiting for the great performance. Performance anxiety is a real battle, yet staying present is a mindful formula.

Setting aside time to remember what this moment means is crucial. Air pilot reactions must die in the foreign flame. A period can no longer be the end all be all. The statement in question must be brought to the jury. My will is to testify, yes my intentions are to show up on the stand. Like The gears change when I drive a standard car – my focus must be in tune.

Whenever I am filled with the little that is left – my heart yearns for more. The resemblance to an abundance of thoughts is uncanny to nothing right beside me. We are living in the time where powers are being torn down. Structures no longer are able to maintain their foundations. The people have started a revolution! After years and years of being ignored and not seen for their actual scars – we the people have awakened.

At this point, it’s not about who’s sleeping but rather when awake, they get to the business of connecting the dots found in their dreams. The history of our philosophies is engineered by personal experiences which are then led by the examples of our fathers and mothers. Who do we blame for the pedigree of where our steps have led?

There a lot of people to point to. Everyone ain’t innocent but does that by default make us all guilty? I suppose we all make it up as we go along. There’s a whole a lot to remember and not much to forget when every experience is lived up to complete formation. This doesn’t mean it’ll be easy rather a challenge to return to the NOW. Let’s face it: The now can be freighting and exhausting – but by being present in it – our moments are longer.

Swarming buzzes in and out my ear. I don’t want to swap the life out of them. But damn, their noise is a growing pest. I’ll be damned if I’ll let them sting me, at the expense of their life. They encourage me to visit their queen – the soul of honey is at the center. As going around the honeycomb-like a bee – I’ll Be exactly who and where I need to be.
